URBAN AREA PLAN

Local spatial development plan for the Stary Mokotów area

The Local spatial development plan for the area of Stary Mokotów [Old Mokotów] covers the northern part of the Mokotów District in Warsaw, between Wołoska and Belwederska Streets. It is an area with a well-formed urban structure – with a predominance of residential areas and a large number of areas subject to legal protection. The provisions of the plan are therefore bringing order to the existing functional and spatial structure, as the document prioritizes protecting the values of cultural heritage and the environment, including the living conditions. A minimum scope of transformations is allowed and the building intensity should generally be maintained at the current level. Greenery zones are designated as an element of development delimitation in residential areas. Important arrangements also apply to the shaping of public spaces, including green areas significant to the city: Morskie Oko Park and Promenada Park, as well as numerous squares and other green spaces. In particular, the provisions of the plan relate to the protection of the Warsaw Escarpment.
