Basic ecophysiographic study of the borough and city of Wyszków
The basic ecophysiographic study concerns the area of the borough and city of Wyszków. The areas outside the city are characterized by an agricultural and forest landscape. The borough is known of great natural and landscape diversity. The greatest value is the Bug valley with its naturally meandering river and oxbow lakes. Large forest complexes also constitute a high natural value. An important element determining the possibility of the borough’s development are the limitations resulting from the location of its northern part within the flood risk area of the Bug and Liwiec rivers. The ecophysiographic study presents the natural resources of the borough and discusses the possibilities of shaping its and the city’s natural space. It also includes indications concerning natural objects and legally protected lands also for other areas of natural value that are not under legal protection and constitute the basis for building the natural system of the borough.
The study also diagnosed threats and nuisances to the environment. Among other things, areas of direct flood risk were indicated, along with recommendations for the management of these areas, including the limitations for locating buildings.
